Two Road Diverged in A Wood
I am quoting the somewhat cliched Robert Frost poem in my title. Sometimes things happen and we don't really know the reason. Some people call it fate or destiny. I think it is just life surprising us. I went to Madrid two summers ago and I didn't like it one bit. I talked to a lot of people and they told to me to wait a few days, weeks, the entire summer even and it would get better. I, having a gut feeling, didn't want to listen to anyone and just wanted to go home. Most people would have stuck it out, but I didn't and that has made all the difference in the world. I accepted my failure, made the decision to come home one week into the program, and moved on. It was the best move for me at the time. Looking back things may look different but as they say, hindsight is always 20/20. But one failure doesn't mean the end of the world and here I am, two years later and probably a little bit wiser.
